Vacation in Southern Oregon Begins
We embarked on a 10-day vacation in southern Oregon today. The first six nights will be at Valley of the Rogue State Park.
Departed Coos Bay around 1130 - would have been sooner but Pat spotted the Tall Ship HMS Bounty down at the waterfront and wanted to get some pics with her new camera!
The new camera is actually having some positive effects on my geocaching as it turns out. I needed a good excuse to stop at Seven Feathers Casino for a virtual cache that focused on a very large scultpure of a bald eagle with a salmon in it’s talons so I convinced Pat she needed to take a picture.
After two more rest areas and a cinnamon roll stop at Quinnes Creek we finally made it into the campground and set up around 3pm.
Greg and Anita Blackwell arrive tomorrow to join us camping until monday. Pat and Anita plan to attend our church’s Ladies Retreat starting tomorrow evening until sunday morning. Greg and I plan to get some hiking and geocaching in while they’re away.
