Kayaking with Bruce
After Joan’s memorial, Bruce and I took their kayaks down to the Columbia River where the Yakima River joins it and paddled around the calm, slow water in this delta-like area. This was my first time in a kayak - loved it! I want one!
We tried some geocaching from the kayaks but could only find one of the two caches in the area.
We saw plenty of birds around the many small islands. Occasionally, we’d see fish rising to the surface and disturb the surface but not come out of the water - a couple of times it was such a large turbulence we wondered if something big was going to bump us out of the kayaks! The theme to “Jaws” was running through my head!! Probably just some big carp.
We’ve had a really nice time getting to know Desiree’ again. Her baby Kyliann is a real cutie!
Tomorrow we all head back.
