Cape Blanco Photo Shoot

Pat and I got up real early and drove to Cape Blanco before daybreak so Pat could get some sunrise pictures of the Cape Blanco Lighthouse.

We had a partly cloudy sky and cold temperatures along with a bit of wind to contend with but she got some good shots.

Drove down to Gold Beach afterwards and picked up a couple of geocaches then headed home.  Fun day!

Elliot @ The Gordon Farm

Elliot was over at Mike and Rhoda Gordon’s place half days most of the week being watched by Danielle Smith (Gordon) while Pat worked half days.

He came home each day with some new project to talk about AND baked goodies (what else would you expect from the Gordon’s?).  He had a good time and loved getting to run around their wide open spaces.

Elliot helped make these rolls!  Yum

Apple iPhone 3G

Mike in line at AT&T(Mike happy to finally be in the front of the line.)

Mike and I got down to the Pony Village Mall today to purchase the new iPhone 3G.  We had no idea what kind of turn out would be in our little town.  We were about the 18th and 19th person to wait in line at the AT&T store due to open up at 8:00 am.  The people in line were cheery and excited about getting the iPhone 3G in our area.  One man said, “Finally Coos Bay is coming out of the dark ages” - something to that affect, I had to chuckle.  The store reps came out about 7ish to count the people in line.  They were great about getting most people in line all ready before the store opened.

Once we finally got to order our phones, our rep said they were having constant internet downtime due to the traffic on the network.  Later we found out that Apple was having issues with their iTunes servers globally.  Our AT&T rep was not able to finish setting us up so she sent us home with our purchases, but told us we would have to finish the set up on iTunes.  I think she really was overwhelmed and didn’t really know what the whole process was.

Once we got home we were unable to load iTunes for a couple of hours.  Once iTunes was online, Mike and I began configuring our iPhones.  It went pretty well and we enjoyed playing with our new toys!
