Starting Memorial Weekend Early
Pat and I headed for Portland this afternoon. Pat will be attending a work-related conference there for the next two days while I continue on to Dufur. I dropped her off downtown at her hotel then drove on to Dufur. This evening Pat had dinner with Nicole, Kim and Andrew. I got to Dufur in time to have dinner with the folks. Went out after dinner and found a couple of geocaches near town. I will be parking the trailer here and ride to the Tri-Cities with Mom and Dad to attend Aunt Joan’s memorial service.
Bruce and Irene will be there as well - look forward to seeing them. In addition, it sounds like niece Desiree’ and her new baby girl (Kyliann) will be coming - haven’t seen her since she was six years old!

Drift Creek Falls
We headed 15 miles out of Lincoln City into the Siuslaw NF to hike to Drift Creek Falls - a popular hiking destination. When we arrived at the trailhead there were no other vehicles so we had the trail all to ourselves - for awhile anyway. The parking area had 10 or so vehicles by the time we returned! We got all our pictures taken before we met anyone though. I found two geocaches here.

There is a really spectacular suspension bridge over the falls….....
Later in the day Pat shopped at the Outlet Mall while I went geocaching, followed by dinner then some time online at the public library - oh yeah and another movie.

Arriving Lincoln City
Arrived at Devil’s Lake SP around 4pm and quickly set up. Not many campers around. Aaaahhhh, the fresh aroma of emerging skunk cabbage! Phew!
Had a nice dinner at McMenamin’s. Watched a movie later back at the trailer.
