Devils Lake State Park

Set up last night in Devil’s Lake State Park in Lincoln City, OR.  We took a day trip east to the Oregon State Fair in Salem to check out the exhibit showcasing her grand prize winning photo for the Oregon Dept of Parks & Recreation calendar contest, among other things.  All twelve photos were very nicely displayed.  Spent another hour or so wandering the other buildings then headed back to camp.  Of course I couldn’t resist finding a cache or two along the way!

Tugman with The Folks

Mom and Dad are making their rounds before heading over to Colorado to see Bruce & Irene and came for a coastal visit starting today.  We couldn’t get out to join them at Tugman State Park until late this evening because Pat and I were in Eugene all day.  Pat had a work-related meeting at Lane Community College while I just acted as chauffeur.  I also used the time to do some geocaching around the outskirts of town (would you expect anything else?).

Family Camp 2007 - Powers (again)

Returned to Powers County Park after having just been there three weeks ago to participate in our church Family Camp.  Elliot joined us and had a blast with all the other kids.  They had quite a few great activities for the kids this year like a slip-n-slide, truck-load of shaved ice for a snowball fight, swimming hole and one of those blow-up bouncy play castles!  We set up the trailer in the same spot we used last year.  Nice warm weather.  No trip to Hat Rock this time, though.

One the final day we gathered about a gallon of blackberries for future cobblers etc.
