Timothy Lake Caching

Camping at Timothy Lake on the Mt. Hood National Forest for four days with family. Didn’t do much geocaching but the one’s I did brought me to very interesting and picturesque locations. Two stand out in particular:

High Rocks - located at an old fire lookout site (tower is not there anymore) a few miles west of the lake. The view was spectacular this late afternoon. Clear skies yielded wonderful views of Mt. Hood to the north and Mt. Jefferson to the south. Took lots of pictures!

This cache helped me make progress on the Oregon Forest Fire Lookout Challenge cache.

Crater Lake Jr - VERY cool cache (literally - water is 34 degrees!!) in a meadow at the end of a long arm of Timothy Lake. Crystal clear artesian well fed pond - much like the waters of Crater Lake (hence it’s name) and Lake Tahoe.
