Smith River to Siuslaw River
Today’s caching excursion took me on a big loop running up the Smith River up over the top eastward to the North Fork of the Siuslaw River then north to Highway 126, Florence, then back home.
It was a very satisfying day starting with Steve-n-Nancy’s new Smith River series. Finding these caches broke the Berliner/S-n-N tie for top honors for my “Finds by Owner” statistic.
Next was Ghost Camp - a newer but scarcely visited cache. Easy find but surrounded by poison oak!
After completing this group of caches I headed northeast over the hilltop and down into the N Fk. Siuslaw River drainage to attempt to be FTF on West Fork Smith River Rd cache. Yep - got to sign a blank log book!
Continued north towards Highway 126 picking up the first three caches of the new Clay Creek series. Number two was particularly satisfying because it was a FTF after several others had logged DNF’s! Just love it when that happens!
Total of twelve caches today putting my over 1900. I can smell 2000 coming!
Side Note: Consecutive days with a cache find - 11
A good day!
