Siuslaw NF and P.A.W.N. Trail
Today I took on Kenny Art’s NFD geocache series on the back roads of the Siuslaw Nat’l Forest between Florence and Cape Perpetua. This series was laid out much like my own Elliott State Forest series and was an enjoyable drive. I was a little concerned about running into hunters but only saw two other hunting vehicles all day! Didn’t complete the series but look forward to picking off the rest another day. I love it out here on the Siuslaw forest!

P.A.W.N. Trail Head
I started the day with a short one-mile hike on the P.A.W.N. Trail up the Upper North Fork road NE of Florence. This was a nice trail showcasing large old-growth conifers and thick riparian vegetation. I noticed this trail wasn’t on Jon Standley’s Northwest Trails Garmin map so I save the track and will submit it for addition soon.
Finished the day with 18 caches AND passed 3000! Woohoo! ...... but it’s NOT about the numbers, remember?
