Nice Weekend for Day Trips

image

Great weather this weekend gave opportunity to get out for a couple of day excursions with Pat to do some geocaching and picture taking.

Yesterday we went north to the Umpqua Lighthouse where I picked up the newest cache there called Shine a light.

Today was south to the Gold Beach/Rogue River area. This day was quite a bit more eventful than yesterday thanks to having dropped my iPhone at the What is it? geocache and spending 45 minutes of panic searching!  My log entry for that cache…..

“Pulled up and saw the awesome caching pair known as **Majik intently focused on the hunt. Made introductions and got right to business. While expanding the search radius I heard one of them give a happy “found it”! Signed the log and headed for the Cape Sebastian viewpoint for pics.

The story gets interesting at this point…...while at the viewpoint, I realize I dropped my iPhone somewhere during the last two geocache hunts! Yikes, so I drive back to this cache and have no luck finding it. Then back north to the last cache visited - no luck there either! Back to this one again…“I KNOW it is here!” Sure enough, finally found it next to one of the many trees I examined! Whew!

Was so relieved to have found it that I didn’t bother checked for any brand new caches before leaving the Gold Beach area…..might have got a couple of FTF’s on the OFam’s new caches right in this vicinity! Aagghh!”

No need to elaborate further!
