Hunting Cougar in Seattle?
No, I didn’t have a rifle slung over my shoulder stalking the big cat amongst the skyscrapers. Instead, Elliot and I went a little east of Seattle to hunt some caches at Cougar Mountain Wildland Park.
It was a frosty 28 degrees but sunny. Elliot had a grand time busting all the ice over puddles in the trails. The park area is a rehabilitated coal mining property managed by the King County Parks. It’s one of three forested sites locally known as the Issaquah Alps. It was a great day to be out even if it was cold. Oh, no cougar sightings!
