Visiting Salem

Was in Salem for a couple of days and got a little caching in.  Wow, I though Coos Bay was the land of micro’s!  Never have I seen so many “light pole” caches per square mile!  It was driving me crazy so I got out of town a ways to the Willamette Mission State Park to walk some nice paths and do some caching of course.  Many of these were micros too - but at least I had nicer scenery.

Day Trip to Glendale

My destination for today’s day trip was the 15 cache series between Glendale and Azalea.  This was a challenging series.  Coordinates were frequently off and the clues and hints were hard to follow until AFTER I found the cache!  I was not able to find 3 of the 15 caches in this series.  Not sure I’ll ever come back to get them either - maybe if I happen to be camping in the vicinity.  Before getting started on this series however, I picked up a new one - Cache Across America, Oregon.  After making the series run I picked up a few more in Canyonville and Myrtle Creek.  Left home at 5am and got back at 5pm!

Went over 700 on this trip.

Caching in the new T@B

Picked up a few caches NE of Walla Walla, WA while on vacation in our new T@B RV.  Grandson and I left campsite to gas up pickup and get some milk and ice.  Of course we HAD to find some caches while we were out and about!

Rogue River Run

Cached from Grants Pass to Graves Creek along the gorgeous Rogue River while Pat attended a church ladies retreat near Jacksonville.  Dropped her off yesterday and spent the night at a motel in Grants Pass last night.  I had intended on camping somewhere but the rain changed my mind.  Had a little excitement while hiking near Indian Mary Park - here’s my log entry:

Over from the coast caching between Grants Pass and Graves Creek. Decided to get a hike in along with all the caches along the river. Got quite a workout - hour and a half. Also got a nasty gash on my noggin while ducking under a fallen tree and stood back up a wee bit too quickly. The folks down at the trailhead looked at me a bit oddly with my bandana pressed atop my head and blood dripping down my face!

Doggie show going on at Indian Mary today - actually heard the PA system while signing the log!!

Great hike though Thanks
