Hiking & Caching w/ Bad Duck
Bad Duck accompanied me on some short hiking caches today between Reedsport and Florence.
Started the day with a 1.5 mile RT hike off Sparrowpark Road into Threemile Lake to find a Kenny Art cache that had been placed not long after my own nearby Threemile Lake cache. Darren found my cache is short order then moved on and found Kenny’s cache. Quite breezy on the lake today. We discovered a discarded tent, sleeping bag and jeans on the lake’s beach - kinda spooky!
Next were a couple of roadside caches - Stick Fishing and another cache Darren needed.
Further north we parked along the highway and walked the Taylor Dune trail to grab another Kenny Art cache. Encountered a couple of scruffy characters enjoying a beverage at a dune viewpoint deck. Moved along to find the cache and returned to the highway.
In Florence, we grabbed a bite to eat and gassed up the pickup then headed for home. Found two caches in Reedsport as we passed through - Bedrock’s Duck and It’s the safe way.
A good caching day - hiking and geochatting with a buddy!
