Hangin’ With Family

Mostly a day of hanging around and visiting family with the occasional walk to see what was around the park.

We discovered that the Columbia River Heritage Trail passed right through the park. Easy access provided for daily walks up and down the river where we saw many kinds of wildlife. Since Dad is a geocacher too, we used this trail more than once to find the caches hidden there.

Later in the day, Dad and I took a drive just west of the park to look for an intriguingly named cache called Hybrid Cache. The source of intrigue was in the description of the container (a hybrid of classic container styles) and how much trouble people were having trying to find it.  Indeed, we did find it and had a good chuckle at the container (sorry, can’t say much more or I’ll give it away!). A hiking stick comes in very handy when trying to find a cache hidden in bushes - I felt a familiar “thunk” after about 4 pokes of the stick into the bushes.  Snake country, you know.
