First Night Cache!
A weekend in the Portland area to help my daughter and her husband move across town provided another chance to hunt a night cache I had been wanting to do. I first saw this cache earlier in the year when we stayed in a Wilsonville RV park. I didn’t have time to hunt this cache then so here was my chance. I’ve been geocaching for over 4 years now and have never hunted a cache designed for nighttime - at last, I get to do one!
Pat and I were returning from a trip to the grocery store (coincidentally near the cache!) when I mentioned that I’d love to swing by and do this night cache. After convincing her it would likely be a short wait in the car I pulled into the trailhead parking and grabbed my flashlight and GPSr. Down the trail I went scanning the tree trunks for the tell-tale flash of a small reflector indicating I was headed in the right direction. It was a fairly short trail loop to the final location and a quick find of the cache container. It took maybe 15 minutes to complete. I loved the configuration of reflectors that greeted me as I came to the final location…...

Greeted by a glowing smiley!
I’m thinking it’s time for a night cache back in my home caching area!
