New River Trails
My work day got cut short again today as did Bad Duck’s…..what do you suppose happened next? You know, of course - geocaching! We settled on a group of caches around the Bandon area - a few on the New River Trails and three more on the Bandon Beach Loop.
We both had already found an older group of caches on the New River trails south of Bandon but our buddy Rod had place four more on some trails that I didn’t know about. That’s always cool when geocaching leads you to new places to explore and enjoy! These were all fairly short hikes except the last one. Rod thought it was such a lovely viewpoint, he should put a cache way out there….among the gorse! Ouch! Saw lots of Canadian Geese along New River! Nice trails! Need to get Pat out here for some pics.
Next we tackled a group of caches along Beach Loop Road including one that required climbing a tree! Also, we thought we were done hiking for the day but no….....one more cache required a loose sand trail walk up a steep sand hill then down the other side. Of course that means a steep hike back over the hill to return the pickup! Gorse lined the trails too….ouch again! Dang Me! Dang Me!
