Back in the Dunes Again!
It’s been awhile since I’ve hiked and hunted caches in the dunes so when Mackie’s new Oregon Walkabout 2 popped up I wanted to get right on it! Today was the day. Started at 0800 from John Dellenback trailhead. This was a five-part multi cache taking me on an eight mile trek returning to my truck just before noon. The last mile was slower because I had developed a “hitch in my get-along”.
One awesome site along the way was seeing a Bald Eagle swoop down on Tenmile Creek. He didn’t come back up right away so I snuck over and caught a glimpse of him perched at the edge of the stream atop a broken tree trunk. A split second later however he was on to me and took off into the forest tree tops to the south. I snapped a picture but it was terribly out-of-focus and not usable. Bummer! The trek was pretty enjoyable due to some cloud cover and slight breeze to keep me cool.
