Central Oregon Cachin’ - Day Two

Today I got to cache all day while my wife attended a work-related meeting at Central Oregon Community College (COCC) in Bend!!  Wohoo!!

Now I really struggled with what to do with this wide-open day of caching!  Should I work on the National Forests challenge cache, the Oregon Fire Lookout challenge cache, the Oregon Counties or Oregon DeLorme challenge?  What to do - what to do!

In the end, I think I made a pretty good decision give the HOT weather in the region and the current state of gas prices - I stayed within two miles of COCC all day!

I spent the whole day walking a great array of trails within the Shevlin Regional Park just west of COCC along Tumalo Creek.  There is a good summary of the park and map of the trails at the web link above.

Picked up eleven caches - THIS was my favorite - a scenic vista is almost always a favorite.  Glad I made the trek up out of the cooler creek-side trail to get this one even in the heat of the day.
