Back to Brookings
Labor Day weekend at Brookings just wasn’t as fun without Pat so this weekend we hooked up the trailer and headed down….only to discover Harris Beach SP full - ended up going up to Loeb SP instead. That’s okay, we like this park too - warmer weather up the river anyway.
Saturday we spent the day looking for photo ops for Pat starting with Crescent City, CA and ending at Gold Beach, where we had a great dinner at Barnacle Bistro! I picked up one cache in Crescent City near Point St. George.

Sunday morning I took a brisk morning hike for another cache near the campground before breakfast. Then after getting sidetracked by a big commotion on the river bar, the annual Wild Rivers Ducky Derby, we hitched up the trailer and made our way leisurely back up the coast. Stopped at the Whaleshead Viewpoint and hiked a short section of the Oregon Coast Trail to find 3 caches and get some pics.

A quick but fun weekend getwaway - hoping to do a few more before the winter rains come!
